The School Room

Here's our school room. Please don't mind the unswept floors and huge horse which is currently being used as a trash bag hanger and a step ladder to reach the top of the book shelf.

Taking a a closer look we have:

The reading cornerThe back of the reading corner; which has our white board, scissors, pencils and our timeline

Our nature table, which is getting a little over crowded. They keep piling things up- large rocks, bird's nests and eggs, dead moths, bark, etc. One day I might go through it....

The bulk of our school manipulatives....microscope and science stuff on top, math on the next 2 shelves, language on the 3rd...then random other materials and toys on the bottom 2.

The art shelf....paper, sketch pads, markers, pastels and other arts and crafts supplies.

The preschool shelf and my ever-shrinking command center. The wire bins are home to each other their current books and work, recorders, supplies-like paperclips, brads, glue, and a tiny spot for me to keep my weekly planner page.

There are more shelves....toys shelves....but not much has changed from last year in our school room other than some minor rearranging and toy rotation.

  3. sweet! I am coming to learn at your school. I don't have a nature table and would love one-the boy seems to find every nook and cranny to put something nature related on-so yes, I need one to contain it all! Thanks for sharing.

  7. Hi There Sadie,
I love pictures of school rooms it's just fun to see how others have theirs set up and see if there is anything to try in your own homeschool to see if it may work or not. Sometimes it does and sometimes not so much but, it's nice being inspired by others and I thank you so much for sharing. I love your nature table the boys would love something like that. Perhaps we can put ours on top of the art hutch though that would be awesome! Thanks for sharing that and may incorporate that idea but, I promise to share where we learned it from. Thanks again. Oh I also love the color blue of your school room we need a change I am tired of the baja green and the kids probably are also but, the blue is nice especially that deep blue, hope you don't mind but we may change and incorporate a similar color but, again will let everyone know we learned it here first.

    Hugs,
    Sheila

They must love to spend time there all day- even when not schooling I bet! The reading corner is great! I need more books like that- all in good time I guess! Have a great school year!

  20. LOVE the idea of a nature table! At least they have a place to put that stuff instead of all over the house or in their pockets! LOL! Definitely going to have to incorporate something like that this year with my 3 boys. Thanks for the idea!
