I started It's a Boy's Life in 2008 to document my family's journey through homeschooling. I thought about keeping it on topic, but just like I have many titles my blog has many subjects. I blog about our homeschool adventures and love to share our lessons with others. I blog about our homesteading journey and all the animals, work and heartache that goes along with it. I blog about baking and cake decorating. I blog about everyday life. I live in the mountains of North Carolina with my husband, kids, goats, alpacas, chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs and cats. Did I miss anyone?

This is Rylan, currently 11 years old and going into the 6th grade. He's my introvert, my quiet one. He is loving, caring, responsible and everything I could want in my oldest child. I can see him growing up and changing right before my eyes, and I love who he is becoming.
This is Cale, currently 9 years old and going into the 4th grade. He is my wild and crazy one. He is definitely not an introvert! He's the child who drew on walls, ate play-dough and used scissors inappropriately. He climbs trees too tall and takes a million chances. He is also an amazing big brother and loves his siblings fiercely. I can always trust him to keep the baby safe and happy if I need to get something done.
This is Cohen, currently 7 years old and going into the 2nd grade. He is my happy-all-the-time one. He is a clown and loves to make people laugh. He's not afraid to have others laugh at him and he tries his hardest to turn frowns into smiles. He's also an avid reader, a responsible baby-watcher and creative writer.
This is Lakin, currently 5 years old and about to start Kindergarten. He is my loud one. No matter if he us happy or upset, you can hear him. He's got a huge laugh and a great sense of humor. He's moody and loving. He is an avid reader and can almost always be found somewhere with a book in his hands.
This is Annika, currently 2 years old, and the baby of the family. She is a wonderful addition to this boy-filled house. She loves to dance, sing and dress up. She loves her books, babies and brothers. He smile is contagious and is often spoiled by certain other people in this household.
