This is one of my favorite blog-hops. I love to see everyone's school rooms. Here is ours...
Standing in the doorway looking in...
Here's what we have, if I stand in the middle of the room and turn around:
Rylan and Cale's desk. They needed their own space. A space with more room to spread and less distractions. The stuff in the middle is a barrier from each other. They do have chairs, but we have a chair shortage at the moment so they have to take their chairs from the dinner table to their desk in the morning and back again.

Next we come to the reading corner. Lots of books, a rug, lamp and 2 chairs. And George Washington to watch over you.
Keep turning and you get to our school shelf. Which is home to most of our manipulatives and such.
Then there is the toy corner. Lots of cars and monsters and dinosaurs.

Up next is the table. Cohen and Lakin's "desk" and where we do our art projects.
The final wall is home to all the shelves. We moved all of them to this back wall to make more room for the space needed to fit Rylan and Cale's desk/table and I think I like it this way much better than we've had it in the past. Art stuff, puzzles, books, and other misc. toys.
And of course space to play on the floor.
In the interest of keeping it real, I feel obligated to show this last corner:
I refer to it as "the barn" and it's behind Cale's seat and the big book shelf of the reading corner. For now we have no other safe place to store our 5o lbs bags of rabbit, goat, chick, layer and scratch grains. So there they are.
What a great school room! I love the reading corner, so cozy!
ReplyDeleteWe opted for a neutral color on the walls so we could pop color in decor, but I LOVE your bold blue!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful room! :0) I love looking at the dedicated rooms and wish we had room for something like that. Best of all...love how sunny it looks!
ReplyDeleteReally neat schoolroom! I need to get my pictures taken and my post done. Thanks for sharing yours! =)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great learning space! I love your blue walls--we have blue, yellow and white throughout our house!
ReplyDeleteYour reading area looks so inviting and comfortable! I just set up a new reading area for us to use this year--we're looking forward to it.
I was happy to see your "barn" because we have a similar-looking area, not in our classroom but in a corner of our living room. In addition to our dogs, we have a guinea pig, a rat, two toads and a gerbil--and lots of animal supplies!
Have a great year of learning with your family!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the blue color! :)
ReplyDeleteYou sound like us. We have to keep all the bird seed, chicken food, etc. in a closet inside the house to keep it safe. I would love to purchase one of those small plastic garden sheds for outdoors to store it all.

I'm not usually a fan of cool tones, but I must say your blue walls look wonderful. They bring a good energy to the room. Thanks for keeping it real, we all need to do that from time to time. It's encouraging.
ReplyDeleteAwesome bookshelves & the blue walls are great!
ReplyDeleteLove the room! Both of our kid bedrooms have 1 blue wall in them. What a great space for your boys. Just stopping by from the NBTS blog hop.
